Desyncra™ for Tinnitus is a tinnitus sound therapy program that is designed to change the patterns in the neuronal networks and reduce the distressing symptoms of tinnitus, including loudness and annoyance.
Recent scientific research has discovered that the brain’s hyperactivity and neuronal activity resulting from tinnitus can be observed within the auditory cortex. This synchronized neuronal activity has been discovered to coincide with the distressing symptoms of tinnitus.
The brain’s auditory cortex has an organizational structure according to the frequency or pitch of sounds that it perceives, ranging from low to high pitches. Desyncra therapy is designed to disrupt this synchronization by introducing therapeutic and matched tones to the user. The Desyncra™ proprietary pitch-matching process works in cooperation with the brain to target the therapy to the hyperactive region in the auditory cortex. NEUROTHERAPY IN YOUR HAND
The Desyncra™ for Tinnitus therapy is delivered using therapeutic tones via an iPod and Desyncra earphones. The therapy takes place over a 36 week treatment period. The noninvasive, targeted therapy is tailored to the patient’s tinnitus profile and is adjusted periodically throughout the therapy to ensure it remains optimized.
CHANGED NEURAL BEHAVIOR
The Desyncra for Tinnitus program applies CR® Neuromodulation to “desynchronize” and disrupt this neuronal, pathological behavior.
Improved symptoms are reported by patients, and can be seen through EEG imaging and evidence of reduced delta wave activity across the tinnitus neural networks.
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
The Desyncra therapy is individualized to each patient and adjusted to ensure that the therapeutic tones are quiet yet still audible. This comfortable setting allows patients to enjoy everyday life while receiving the therapy in the background. Patients have freedom to choose which times of day to do the therapy.
36 WEEK THERAPY
Desyncra for Tinnitus offers therapy over 36 weeks. The therapy program begins with an initial fitting appointment, and is followed by follow-up visits at 3, 8, 12, 24 and 36 weeks.
The follow-up visits ensure that the Desyncra therapeutic tones are continually optimized to the profile of the patient’s tinnitus.
AUDIOLOGY AND NEUROLOGY CONVERGE
Desyncra for Tinnitus applies CR ® Neuromodulation to disrupt the hyperactive, synchronized neuronal behavior behind tinnitus. With an iPod and dedicated headphones, Desyncra’s proprietary pitch-matching targets hyperactivity in the auditory cortex.
CR® Neuromodulation therapy from Desyncra offers solutions to other neurological pathologies beyond tinnitus, including Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, and migraine headaches. The mode of delivery is quite different for each of these neurological conditions. Yet in each case, the CR® Neuromodulation is designed to disrupt and decouple the synchronized brain activity and reduce the patient’s symptoms.
How do you get started with Desyncra™ for Tinnitus?
First, your audiologist at Tinnitus & Hearing Center of Arizona will test you with the Desyncra software to examine and determine your individual type of tinnitus. These pitch-matching tests provide a detailed analysis of the tinnitus tones you experience personally.
Desyncra’s software then custom tailors a pattern of therapeutic tones that matches your tinnitus pattern. As a result, you’ll hear melodies that bring you relief that are relaxing, quiet, and pleasant to listen to. The best part is that they’re barely detectable and are designed to easily integrate into your daily routine. You’ll listen to the tone pattern every day for a length of time determined by your hearing doctor throughout the 36-week therapy – whenever you want to and wherever you want to take them.
