Dr. Stephen Nagler - I would suggest that you seriously consider seeing Dr. Allen Rohe in Tempe, Arizona. Dr. Rohe is a knowledgeable and experienced audiologist who understands tinnitus better than most anybody I know. He has developed a highly effective program that borrows from the principles of TRT and CBT. Best of all, after the first in-person visit for evaluation and such, all follow-up can be conducted by Skype, which can be extremely helpful for individuals who live at a distance. Additionally, Dr. Rohe is an incredibly nice fellow. You really have to make a concerted effort at not liking him! In short, I can recommend Dr. Allen Rohe unconditionally.

Paul Terry - I have been seeing Dr. Rohe for close to 5 months and the experience has been excellent. His office is very friendly, competent and timely, attributes that are in short supply these days in the medical world. Dr. Rohe is hands down the most courteous and caring doctor that I have ever associated with. His approach to my hearing related treatment has been both effective and very educational. I would highly recommend him to any potential patients.

Danika Fitzherbert - My tinnitus came on when I was 31 weeks pregnant. To say it was devastating would be an understatement!!I had panic attacks every day, cried all day, I was depressed and truly thought I would never be happy again. It was the darkest time of my life and the guilt I felt for not being able to be the same wife and mother was overwhelming.I contacted Dr. Rohe out of desperation, is been to other Drs who had no idea how to treat the tinnitus or help me. Talk about feeling hopeless....thinking that I'd have to live like this was so scary...how could I??? Dr. Rohe was the only medical professional who gave me hope and a plan of attack...he has tinnitus and knows just how debilitating this can be. The best decision I made was to trust him and trust he's process.I am coming up on my year anniversary with tinnitus and I can truly say I may have T but it doesn't have me. I have my life back, I am happy and T is a non issue in my life.....yes...you're reading that right...I don't care about it at all!!!I never dreamed I could be here...that I could recover!!!! I rarely think about the tinnitus anymore...which means I rarely notice or hear it. Dr. Rohe gave me the tools, the support, and the information I needed to get my life back. How can I ever thank him enough!!! Thank you Dr.Rohe for your time, you support and understanding, and you plan of attack...you've made all the difference in my life!!!!

Barbara Basel - After suffering with severe tinnitus for almost 18 years, I felt like I was at my wits end. Searching for relief, I begin working with Dr. Alan Rohe, Tinnitus & Hyperacusis Center of Arizona, to retrain my response to the non-stop ringing and hissing. Dr. Rohe has developed an eight-week program for tinnitus patients using principles of Cognitive Brain Training (CBT). Dr. Rohe’s educational program helped me to identify the negative thoughts that I was attaching to my tinnitus. While there is no cure for tinnitus, I am able to spend more time throughout the day in less distress with the ringing. Thanks Dr. Rohe.

Dave Malton - The Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Clinic has helped my mother with her hearing. They are a fantastic, experienced, knowledgeable resource and weather you have to fly in to see them or you live in the area you wont be disappointed the doctors know their stuff. They are working with the latest technologies and I have never seen my mother happier!

Curt - I developed tinnitus in my left ear for the first time ever after a flight 8 months ago. As a medical professional, this became very traumatic for me personally. I am so glad that I found Dr. Rohe. He has truly unique and excellent program including CBT that will help you immensely. He is genuinely interested and cares deeply for his patients. Since he has experienced tinnitus himself, he has a keen awareness of how debilitating it can be to his patients and can help you better than a psychologist who may be just trained in CBT and not personally familiar with tinnitus. I have improved greatly through my sessions with Dr. Rohe, and hope that other people suffering from tinnitus will somehow find their way to him. He will give you the tools to get your life back again.

Ted Rhodes - Tinnitus, if not treated properly, can become a debilitating condition and can thus be ruinous to our work and life style. Dr. Allen Rohe was amazing in treating my Tinnitus symptoms. While there is no cure for tinnitus, Dr. Rohe's approach helps patients to "tune out" the symptoms, which in turn, rewires the brain in such a way that the tinnitus is no longer such a tremendousburden to us in our daily lives. For anyone who is suffering from tinnitus, I highly recommend Dr. Rohe and his treatment for lasting relief.

Jerry Rose - When I first came to see Dr. Rohe, I was a mess. I thought tinnitus had ruined my life. I couldn't imagine where I am today. I just finished my 6th treatment with Dr. Rohe. I'm not cured. I still hear my tinnitus most of the day. But it is no longer devastating. It no longer scares me. It just is. I largely don't care about it at all. I still have quiet days and loud days. But, the quiet days are much more frequent. The loud days are less and not nearly as consuming. I am happy. I am back to being me. I'm living my life. Dr Rohe truly has saved me from this. He knows his stuff. Heck, he lives with tinnitus too. But he can take the teeth out of it, and give you your life back. The program works. You just have to work at it. If you are suffering like I was, call him.

Mercedes Guccione - Today was my first visit with Dr Rohe. I was impressed. He greeted me right at my appointment time. Was personable, professional, and spent time with me. He is the 13th Dr I have seen in regards to my T & H . I am an extremely reactive person. I have a lot of anger and depression in regards to the this affliction. I feel my consult was a good experience. He explained things to me that none of the other doctors did. I feel up to now it has been about money makers and snake oil sales pitches. He is different. He genuinely wants to help.

Greg Aguirre - After a long career as a military and civilian pilot, I was diagnosed with Tinnitus and Hyperacusis. I found the medical community very good at identifying my problem, however not necessarily equipped to provide any assistance or relief. I found the sensitivity to sound associated with Hyperacusis to be especially uncomfortable and distracting; I began withdrawing from activities both at work and with my family.
In desperation, I did a web search and discovered Dr. Rohe. The kind assurance that patients consistently benefit from his management of symptoms was encouraging and I scheduled a visit.
I was not disappointed. Dr. Rohe’s supportive, friendly, manner combined with his well-presented and organized training regimen, has absolutely made my life better. Dr. Rohe has given me the tools to comfortably resume a normal life that is not centered and shaped by my hearing discomfort.
Should any further personal recommendation be helpful, please feel free to contact me.

Martin Uszynski - If you are reading this you may have tinnitus. First off, don’t panic you WILL get through this. The key is finding someone that can help. In that, I KNOW you have come to the right place. I’m sure you have seen numerous internet “cures.” The reality is,that for now, there is no complete cure, BUT, and here is the big BUT, you can re-learn to ignore it. I know this may be a lot to take in, but you CAN and WILL have your life back.

Several years ago I developed tinnitus related to Crestor, a cholesterol medication. The first time I perceive the ringing it wasn’t so bad and learned to cope. At that time I ceased all medications for about a year but restarted them not recognizing the cause of my tinnitus. Well, it happened again and this time it was terrible. It was so loud. I just couldn’t shake the noise. For a while it was a downward spiral of anxiety and stress that made things even worse. I tried the Flavonoids and everything else that was offered by my ENT but nothing seemed to work. I’m sure you know where this is story is going but you need to know that others have been in your shoes and have had the same doubts. I can tell you that you with certainty that you can have your life back!!!!
I found Dr. Allen Rohe through the extensive online research and that was the moment that changed everything. I live in Texas but made the appointment to fly out and meet with Dr. Rohe in Arizona for an evaluation. He is an amazing person that cares and listens. He understands what you are going through as he has suffered from tinnitus as well. He is incredibly knowledgeable and will tailor treatment to your individual condition.

Your treatment type may vary but I underwent tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT) which included a pair of noise generators that I obtained during the same visit (with some planning ahead of time). The noise generators are nearly invisible. I wore them for months before anyone noticed I was wearing them. After the first week or two I noted a huge improvement in my demeanor. I knew I was on the road to recovery and that made all the difference. I had regular phone sessions with Dr. Rohe who guided me all the way through my recovery. It was a godsend. I wore them for about 2 years in total but within the first weeks I knew that I was going to be fine. My anxiety, stress and depression continued to fade away. In the end I stopped wearing the noise generators when they became more of a nuisance than benefit. I keep them around but rarely ever use them. I have learned to adapt to my tinnitus and had to minimally adjust my lifestyle but I am free of the anxiety and depression. I cannot thank Dr. Rohe enough for taking me through this disease. If you are reading this and you need help, I wholeheartedly wish you the very best in any treatment you pursue but I can tell you, from personal experience, that you cannot find a kinder, more understanding and more knowledgable person than Dr. Rohe in treating tinnitus. God bless!

Kurt Rustin - Dear Dr. Rohe thank you for everything you have worked on with me in last couple months, my life since misophonia has led me down an incredibly difficult emotional road and i never thought i could lead any semblance of a normal life. last year was perhaps the most difficult of my life and i was running out of hope for a future. i am so very glad i found my way to you, the first person i have ever met that had a real understanding of what i have been dealing with the last 12 years of my life despite the countless other doctors i have seen since my symptoms started. you have started me down a path to recovery i never thought existed and i will keep fighting my way down this path until we reach the end of it! I am posting here on your Facebook not only to say how great full i am but hopefully to start spreading the word that there is hope, that life doesn't have to be so full of suffering. i look forward to working together on this. i see the future for everyone with misophonia, and it looks a little brighter.

sincerly

-Kurt Rustin

Erika Moyer Huyck - I just completed an 8 cognitive behavioral course on tinnitus with Dr. Rohe and it was so beneficial to me. Dr. Rohe is very caring, and supportive. He has seen me at my worst when I was first diagnosed with tinnitus. I can now say that with his help, instruction and supportive, caring attitude that I am actually enjoying life. 10 months ago, I honestly didn't think an enjoyable life would ever be possible! I can say enough positive things about Dr. Rohe. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. A normal life is possible!

Randy Heiman Rachlin - I live in Maryland and learned of Dr. Rohe totally by happenstance from someone on Facebook who had been severely impacted by her tinnitus and had gotten her life back after working with him. I was desperate....I had been dealing with tinnitus for over two years and was not living but surviving. I was depressed, angry and my quality of life was simply awful. The thought of living the rest of my days feeling so horrible was beyond my comprehension. I took a chance and sent Dr. Rohe a Facebook message, not knowing that he was on Christmas vacation with his family. He was kind enough to take the time to respond to me and just his response gave me hope that I was not going down yet another blind alley. Believe me, I had been down more of them than I care to remember!

I have just completed Dr. Rohe’s program. He is an amazingly compassionate individual who knows what it is like to live with tinnitus, as he has it himself. He never promises a way to take away your tinnitus, as this is not medically possible. What he does promise is that if you follow his program, based on cognitive behavioral therapy, and put in the time needed to work daily on his exercises, you can regain your quality of life, despite having tinnitus. I know that even though I have finished the eight weeks of instruction, my journey is just beginning, however the time and work I put in were so worthwhile. I am reading for enjoyment again, which I hadn’t done in two years. I am seeing that I can enjoy my life, despite having tinnitus. I may still hit some “rough patches” but I now feel like I have strategies to cope with them. I can’t thank Dr. Rohe enough. He is a wonderful human being. If anyone has any questions about Dr. Rohe and his program, feel free to send me a message on Facebook messenger.
